🪴 THIS LISTING IS FOR EXACT PLANT IN PHOTO AND CHOSEN AT PURCHASE
⚠️ Note on Natural Variation, Algae & Growing Conditions
Each plant is unique and may have slight natural differences in leaf pattern and stem tone. However, all will be comparable in size, shape, and overall appearance to the photo provided.
We ship our plants in a Fluval and perlite mix, which promotes strong root development and airflow. You may notice some harmless algae in the substrate - this is normal in high humidity environments and will not harm the plant.
🌡️ These plants have been grown in controlled conditions of 70-75% humidity and 70-75°F temperatures. They will need to be slowly acclimated to typical household conditions to avoid stress. Gradually reduce humidity and avoid sudden changes in temperature or light.
🛠️ Care Instructions
Light:
Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which may scorch the leaves.
Water:
If you choose to keep the plant in the provided Fluval and perlite mixture, place it in a self-watering pot or above a shallow reservoir so roots can wick up moisture. Always use nutrient-enriched water (diluted liquid fertilizer is ideal) in the reservoir to maintain balanced nutrition.
Humidity:
Prefers high humidity (60%+). If acclimating to lower humidity, do so slowly using a dome, tent, or gradual exposure to room air over 1-2 weeks.
Temperature:
Ideal range is 70-75°F. Protect from cold drafts or heat stress.
Soil (if repotting):
If transferring out of the current medium, use a well-draining aroid mix (such as coco coir, perlite, orchid bark).
Fertilizer:
Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer at ¼-½ strength every 4-6 weeks during active growth.
Dormancy Note:
Alocasias may slow or stop growth in winter or under low light. During dormancy, reduce watering and stop fertilizing until growth resumes.
