Epipremnum Pinnatum ‘Aurea Variegata’
🌿 Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Aurea Variegata’
(Golden Variegated Dragon Tail)
The Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Aurea Variegata’ is a rare tropical climber known for its striking golden-yellow marbling and splash variegation over long, lance-shaped leaves. As the plant matures and climbs, it develops natural fenestrations (splits), giving it a unique, dragon-tail appearance. Fast-growing, easy to care for, and a must-have for collectors, this plant is ideal for moss poles, totems, or trailing displays.
🪴 You will receive a plant similar in size and variegation pattern to the one shown in the photo. Each plant is hand-selected for vibrant aurea color, healthy roots, and consistent growth.
⚠️ Note on Natural Variation, Algae & Growing Conditions
Each plant’s variegation is unique—ranging from soft marbling to bold sectoral aurea splits. While the pattern may vary, all plants are matched for size and overall quality to the photo example.
Plants are shipped in a Fluval and perlite mix, promoting strong root development and reducing transplant shock. Green algae may be present in the substrate—this is normal in high humidity environments and poses no harm to the plant.
🌡️ Grown at 70–75°F and 70–75% humidity, these plants need to be gradually acclimated to standard household conditions over 5–7 days to avoid stress.
🛠️ Care Instructions
Light:
Bright, indirect light is ideal. Variegation may fade in low light; too much direct sun may burn the leaves.
Water:
If remaining in the Fluval/perlite mix, place the plant in a self-watering pot or set it above a shallow reservoir of nutrient-enriched water to allow bottom wicking. Keep consistently moist but never soggy.
Humidity:
Prefers 60–75% humidity but adapts well to standard household levels if acclimated slowly.
Temperature:
Ideal range is 70–85°F. Protect from drafts and avoid temperatures below 60°F.
Soil (if repotting):
Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix (coco coir, orchid bark, perlite) if repotting out of Fluval/perlite.
Fertilizer:
Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer at ¼–½ strength.
Growth Habit Tip:
Provide a moss pole or trellis to encourage larger leaves and fenestration as the plant matures. Will also trail beautifully if left to hang.
