🌿 Philodendron ‘Florida Beauty' - Variegated
(Cream-Splashed Hybrid Aroid)
Philodendron ‘Florida Beauty' is one of the most sought-after variegated philodendrons, celebrated for its dramatically lobed foliage and high-contrast cream, mint, and yellow variegation. A hybrid of Philodendron squamiferum × pedatum, this plant develops highly textured, deeply cut leaves on red-blushed petioles that climb vigorously when supported. Each leaf is a surprise, ranging from splashed and marbled to full half-moon sectors — a must-have showpiece in any rare plant collection.
🪴 You will receive a plant similar in size and variegation pattern to the one shown in the photo. All plants are selected for vivid coloration, healthy roots, and strong growth.
---
⚠️ Note on Natural Variation, Algae & Growing Conditions
Variegation is naturally inconsistent in this cultivar — that's what makes each one special. Patterns may include creamy splashes, blotches, or large white sectors. All plants are matched for overall quality and visual appeal.
Shipped in a Fluval and perlite mix to encourage strong root development and easy acclimation. Green algae may appear in the substrate due to humidity and light exposure — this is normal and not harmful.
🌡️ Plants are grown in 70-75°F temperatures and 70-75% humidity, and must be slowly acclimated to typical household conditions over 5-7 days.
---
🛠️ Care Instructions
Light:
Bright, indirect light is ideal. Too much direct sun can burn variegated sections; too little light may cause reversion (loss of variegation).
Water:
If kept in Fluval/perlite, place in a self-watering pot or above a shallow nutrient-enriched water reservoir for consistent bottom wicking. Keep the medium evenly moist — do not allow it to dry out completely or sit in stagnant water.
Humidity:
Prefers 60-75% humidity for stable variegation and strong aerial root development. Transition slowly to standard indoor humidity if needed.
Temperature:
Thrives in 70-85°F. Avoid cold drafts, and do not expose to temperatures below 60°F.
Soil (if repotting):
When repotting, use a chunky aroid mix — coco coir, orchid bark, perlite, and some horticultural charcoal will provide ideal airflow and drainage.
Fertilizer:
Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced, gentle liquid fertilizer at ¼-½ strength. Avoid overfertilizing as variegated leaves are more sensitive.
Growth Habit Tip:
Provide a moss pole or trellis — this plant is a climber and will develop larger, more fenestrated leaves as it matures upward.
